Mini Fall Makeover

Today I did a mini makeover and a makeup lesson! It was amazing to make someone feel pretty and tech them how they could do it themselves. I knew as soon as I was done, that I had made the right choice in making this my career.

Before she arrived I had asked if she had any allergies and let her know that we were going to be doing a basic/classic look. (mainly because I was also doing this for a class assignment and we were required to do certain techniques and create a basic/classic look.) She was already color matched to a Makeup Forever HD Foundation at Sephora so she brought her own foundation.

To start, she arrived with a clean face! I did one pass with Clinique Clarifying Lotion #3 and then  moisturized with Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel.

I then asked if there was anything she wanted to perfect on her face and if she had any concerns. She had pointed out a few things she wanted to cover so I applied NYX Shine Killer Primer and BH Cosmetics Color Correcting Concealer in light and started to correct her requested areas. Then I applied her foundation and a little more concealer. After explaining the tools to create a flawless finish I set her under eyes with NYX Cosmetics HD Finishing Powder in Banana and the rest of her face with NYX Cosmetics HD Finishing Powder in Translucent.

Normally I don’t do the eyes after the foundation, but like I said in the beginning, this was part of a school assignment and had to do things in a certain order. I started off by priming the eyes with Too Faced 24 Hour Shadow Insurance and let that set for a few minutes. Then, I pulled out my Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette and applied the color Almond Truffle as the transition color. Then I applied Bordeaux in the outer V and mid way through the crease. On the lids I applied Molasses Chip and then added Satin Sheets to the inner corner. I lined the top lashes with Matt Black eyeshadow and then lined the under eye with Bordeaux and Molasses Chip. To finish up the eyes I added a few coats of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and filled in her brows with BH Cosmetics Brow Palette.

For the final touches I contoured her face with Too Faced Chocolate Soleil, Blush in Too Faced Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Highlighted with the MakeupGeek Kathleen Lights Highlighter Palette in the lightest shade and then finished everything off with NYX Stay Matte finishing spray.

I had a lot of fun today and it was truly awesome to do something you love! I love making people feel beautiful and more confident!

Final thoughts? I do need to work on my photography skills. I feel like there were too many shadows from the ever changing Seattle weather. I even had all the blinds open in the dining room and I was still getting shadows! I also want to invest in a nice backdrop for more Before and After pics. I am also thinking of adding some hair styling as well to complete the look.

Let me know what you guys think in the comments below. Also, I am looking for any friends in the Seattle area that would like a complementary mini makeover. 😀
